VideoPropulsion Introduces New 96-channel IP CATV Transcoding Bulk Encrypter for Hospitality, Providing MEPG2-to-H.264 Translation and AES-128 Protection

VideoPropulsion announces immediate availability of a new high-density solution for cable operators enabling the delivery of up to 96 channels to hospitality establishments over high-speed IP networks. The product transcodes existing MPEG2 HD linear programming to H.264, then encrypts the content using Pro:Idiom™, SamsungLYNK™, or Vermatrix™.

Enabling the delivery of up to 96 channels to hospitality establishments over high-speed IP networks.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 28, 2014

In conjunction with the NCTA Cable Show here this week, VideoPropulsion® (OTC:VPTV), now in its 40th year of continuous operation, will be demonstrating a solution for cable companies to more efficiently deliver existing MPEG2 HD linear video channels in H.264 format to hospitality establishments over high-speed IP networks.

The FG-7000 Series includes the facility to transcode up to 96-channels of MPEG2 HD to H.264 – saving 50% or more of IP network bandwidth. The FG-7000 Series then encrypts the content into any one of the approved hospitality encryption standards Pro:Idiom, SamsungLYNK, or Verimatrix. Add-on options support a second or third encryption standard simultaneously using the base transcoded assets. The H.264 transcoded channels can, in fact, be used to feed other H.264 projects for the MSO such as mobile adaptive bit rate formats.

“Cable companies have been using our FG-9200M/S series of headend based encryptors to deliver MPEG2 video services to hotels for over four years,” said Kathy Cain, VP of Sales at VideoPropulsion. "Our new FG-7000 Series enables cable operators to more efficiently deliver linear channels to hotels by utilizing our high-density MPEG2-to-H.264 transcoders coupled with encrypted outputs for content protection.”

The FG-7000 Series is available directly from VideoPropulsion.
