MPEG4 to MPEG2 conversion
Many hospitlality venues purchased HD television sets before MPEG4 content evolved. Those TVs only decode MPEG2 content and are unable to decode and display MPEG4 programming. With the prevalence of MPEG4 encoded video content found on many satellite downlinks, these venues find themselves blocked from this content without making a significant investment in new television sets. The solution is here! The FloodGate FG-422-DISH is now available that solve this problem by transcoding MPEG4 content to MPEG2.
Electronic Program Guide
Hospitality guests now have the option to tune to the program guide channel to preview upcoming programming schedules. FloodGate systems are now optionally available with an electronic program guide channel that is updated automatically.
