FloodGate FG-3500

VideoPropulsion’s FloodGate model FG-3500 is its largest capacity model for providing cable HDTV services over coax. With up to 24 HD channels per unit and the ability to stack units, it is suitable for the largest channel lineups.

The FloodGate FG-3500 delivers content with Pro:Idiom^® encryption technology. This is a Hollywood accepted standard for protecting content in commercial environments including hotels, motels, timeshares, hospitals, assisted living residences and other bulk commercial locations. System installation is straightforward - each Motorola or Scientfic-Atlanta receiver outputs a single HD stream via its 1394 (“Firewire”) port on the receiver. Multiple receivers can be supported by daisy-chaining receivers into the 8 available 1394 ports on the FloodGate.

The FloodGate Manager interface allows you to intuitively manage receiver status, upload a channel lineup and start and stop service. FloodGates configure channels automatically on set-top boxes based on your channel lineup and then QAM modulate them over the existing coax cable infrastructure. Cable programming is transported using MPEG-2 transport streams, thus FloodGate configures up to 2 HD channels per QAM channel, delivering Pro:Idiom protected content to commercial TV’s. Management tools are included to enable proactive remote service resolution, including automated failover to spare receivers in the case of failure.
