Cable/MSO Solutions

There are two types of Cable/MSO solutions:  Customer Premise or Headend Based.

For the Customer Premise solution, a FloodGate is deployed on-site at the customer property (hotel, hospital, assisted living facility, etc.). For content sources deliverd to the property over an HFC network that support CableCard encryption, the FloodGate FG-4000C Series is used. Multi-tuner SiliconDust HDHomeRun units with authorized CableCards are used to receive the incoming programming, which is then transmitted to the FloodGate (using DTCP-IP link protection) where it is encrypted and output over either a coax network or Ethernet network for IPTV delivery. For content sources delivered to the property in-the-clear over fiber using IP delivery, no front-end tuners are required. The incoming IP sources are sent directly to the FloodGate FG-4220S Series appliance for processing.

For the Headend Based solution, one or more FloodGates FG-9200 Series appliances are deployed at the MSO's headend facilities. Source content flows from the headend video routers via IP multicast (or unicast) to the FloodGate. Content is then encrypted and sent back out as IP multicast traffic to the headend video routers, where it is sent to multiple customer properties as needed. Mutiple sites can be served by deploying headend based FloodGates.

FloodGate FG-4000C Series for CableCard

The FloodGate FG-4000C Series utilize multi-tuner SiliconDust HDHomeRun units with authorized CableCards to receive the incoming programming, which is then transmitted to the FloodGate (using DTCP-IP link protection) where it is re-encrypted and output over either a coax network or Ethernet network for IPTV delivery.

FloodGate FG-4220S Series

The FloodGate FG-4200S Series gigabit Ethernet input takes MPEG2 Single Program Transport Streams (SPTS) in-the-clear over IP, then re-encrypts into Pro:Idiom, SamsungLYNK, Verimatrix, or other AES-128 based content protection mechanisms. Output is on a gigabit Ethernet interface utilizing IP multicast (or unicast).

FloodGate FG-9200S

The FloodGate FG-9200S are capable of encrypting 16, 24, 32, 48, or 96 SPTS from an IP multicast source, with either IP or QAM outputs.

FloodGate FG-9200M FloodGate FG-9200M

The FloodGate FG-9200M is designed for Cable/MSO headends to securely delivery HDTV content to multiple premises over a high-speed fiber IP network. The FG-9200M models are capable of encrypting 8, 12, or 16 MPTS from IP multicast sources, with up to 42 programs streams in HD or SD within each MPTS, and provides encrypted output over Gigabit Ethernet copper.
