FloodMark Digital Watermarking Provides Forensic Fingerprint for MPEG Streams

Content is a highly valued asset in the digital television ecosystem. Along with systems that provide AES-128 strong content encryption, FloodMark is designed to embed sufficient forensic data into every stream to aid in determining the source of content that is illegally obtained.

FloodMark is a new digital watermarking feature that is available on select headend appliances from VideoPropulsion. FloodMark embeds forensic fingerprint data into the MPEG data streams flowing through the company’s FloodGate headend appliances and select OEM products. The digital watermark can be recovered and used to identify the source of content that may have been illegally obtained and distributed outside the intended content delivery domain.
